Moving from Loss to Life is a creative writing and embodied meditation workshop that meets people in the depth of dealing with a tough diagnosis, the aftermath of treatment, the loss of a loved one, and in survivorship.
We meet people in the undertow of grief and at the top of the wave where many moments of possibility and momentum live.
Getting diagnosed and the journey that follows can diminish our relationship with our bodies. Embodied mediation helps reawaken sensation and feeling in our body and connects us to our creativity. Together we practice the art of writing and listen from
a deepened place that restores us despite daunting challenges. The writing that follows these embodied mediations often surprise the writers. By the end of the workshop there is a sense of awe in the room from all that has been created and witnessed.
Some participants write very literally about their story while others use their narrative and experience as a jumping off place for discovery. We utilize everything to create narratives that help us identify our experience and heal.
Facilitated by Ciena Rose William who has a background in somatic psychology and is a creative writer and a meditation teacher credentialed to work with PTSD. This workshop was created during her recovery from lung surgery in the depths of the pandemic to support kindred spirits on their healing journey.
